Twitter is trying to find ways to make a profit and be able to get paid for services, this had me thinking that something like a enterprise version of twitter for a large company could be very appealing.
Twitter could make a business tool for enterprises that basically is a LIVE IM for an entire companies organization where anyone can instantly communicate with anyone else, or have groups of people discussing and troubleshooting over a private enterprise twitter.

It should tie into LDAP or active directory and automatically create an account for each person, would be vastly superior to corporate AOL or JABBER systems in its functionality.  Imagine having everyone in your address list communicating with each other, able to answer questions, managers can easily track about whats being said around the company and their employee’s in their sub organizations, Human Resources can also have insight to this information as well.

Have a tech question pop it out on twitter and see if any of the IT guys notice it and respond.

An enterprise twitter could be a very valuable tool indeed, the ability to use it as a streaming communication tool for all employee’s to log into and see whats going on and what people are working on is very valuable.  It would have to be secured with SSL, and have groups and such where you can filter down, maybe some flat rate licensing fee’s or something.  Just an idea of one direction twitter could head that may be able to generate some revenue.

I know I would love a corporate version of twitter in my company instead of an Instant Messaging client.
