I am a huge fan of the LOTR series and though some reviewers claimed they didn’t like The Hobbit as much due to it not being a true following of the book, I appreciated the fact that Peter Jackson compiled and referenced additional J.R.R. Tolkien works after The Hobbit was published to create a bigger and completer picture of the events going around while the dwarves were seeking to retake their homeland from the evil dragon Smaug.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey starts off with a lighter fare than the previous LOTR movies and starts getting serious midway through, there is no shortage of battles with fierce orcs on Wargs, goblin hordes and one of my favorite scenes [spoiler] is the stone giants battling.

Don’t forget to read our review of The Hobbit if you want to read more about it, but for now you should just enter to win a copy of The Hobbit on Blu-Ray, and even if you don’t have a Blu-Ray the edition comes with a DVD copy as well so you should enter anyway!

The Hobbit is a great movie and one you should be adding to your collection, I just watched it on Blu-Ray over the past 2 nights and it was fantastic to watch again.
