Writing Articles for Associated Content

Posted by: dragonblogger  //  Category: blogging

I have actually found it a bit difficult to sleep today so I have been up since two thirty in the morning writing articles for my blogs, and I wrote five articles for Associated Content specifically.  Lately I find myself interested in experimenting more and more with Associated Content as it has a lot of potential to bring in earnings.  I recently have found several people who earn more than $300 per month on Associated Content and I have spent a good deal of time analyzing their articles and what they write about to see if I can emulate their success.

Really this post should be on my personal blog, but since I am relating this information to other bloggers.  For people who are looking to write to make money, blogging may not be the best way to accomplish this.  I have now met several writers on Helium and Associated Content who make four or five times as much as I do with my blogs, they don’t run blogs, or many of them only have a small personal blog.  They are dedicated amateur writers and all of their content goes to Associated Content or Helium exclusively.

Now I have submitted several articles to Associated Content exclusively and I have made about $12 in up front payments for my articles averaging about $3 per 400 word article, which is much less than a paid post at PayPerPost, SocialSpark or PayU2Blog, but you can earn money from pageviews which you don’t get with your blog specifically.  $1.50 per 1000 pageviews for all of your articles combined, some of these successful writers have hundreds and thousands of articles at a million page views.  Do the math, this is more than $1000 in earnings a year or more and you never have to worry about stressing to find sponsors, grab paid assignments, pagerank…etc.

So think about it, if you really just want to write articles and make some money, sure, you might start off a little slow but in the end it takes alot more work to be a successful blogger and make a successful blog.  You have to have a different mentality than just wanting to write articles and news stories.  So if you are someone who just wants to write articles and earn some money for writing as a hobby, I do encourage you to check out Associated Content, I am by no means successful.  I started back in February 2009 and have only about 1000 pageviews so far which makes me a Clout level of 4, but I have a feeling the more articles I write, I can climb the clout ladder sooner or later.

For those of you who choose the harder route of running your own blogs, there is much more to do than just simply write your article and promote it, you have all the blog maintenance overhead and challenge associated with that and I salute all of you.

I agree with you. I have tried a number of these writing sites and AC is the best. It pays the best and it’s the most up front about it’s payments.

I used to get offers from $4 to $5 dollars per article at AC, but this year it went way down to .99 cents to $2.50 for one..It’s kind of discouraging to try now..I’m also on Helium, sold 2 articles to Market Place, but it’s really slow!

    Good luck to you there!!!

Good to know, I guess the more people that sign up and submit articles the less they are paying per article.

Thanks, your post about AC nudged me to finally sign up and start writing. I have been thinking about it for months but I finally signed up yesterday and submitted my first 2 articles. They actually have a promotion running right now where they will pay you a $10 bonus after your tenth submission. My plan is to write 10 articles and see what happens.

Good article. I have actually written an article recently that relates to Making money online without a blog. Helium was my choice. I have not recommended AC because it appears that it is only available for US residents.

I will to this the fact that writing for both AC and Helium does not put your PR in danger and also you can write about almost anything that interest you. Coupled with the fact that you can paid is an added bonus:)

I have written articles for both, and Helium is a pain in the arse because of the whole rating / writing stars thing. You can’t earn $$$, participate in naming contests without earning rating stars, and they make it too much of a game. A/C is far more professional. Plus A/C lets you write articles on whatever you want, you just create / publish and categorize.

Helium requires that you find an existing topic and write about it, there is no way to free submit anything.

    Dragonblogger,

Add one more to the list :)

It’s also like Associated Content and you get paid for 1000 views but in it I think they earn from Ads and you’ve to have competitive keywords etc.

Give it a try as well, and I was registered with AC but I did not write any articles for them. My friend did and she really tried very hard to advertise her article to everyone to gain page views.

You can try oDesk job marketplace as well if you want to freelance your article writing skills.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have just signed up for Triond.com and added my first poem. Do they allow you to repost some content you put on your personal blogs?

Not really sure though, my friend uses it and I do have an account there but I haven’t yet posted anything. You can ask their support staff for it. I am sure they would allow something you own :) and not cheat but I am just wondering if Google caches it, it may term it as duplicate content? What say?
