Introducing Doogee Mobile’s Dagger with Swagger: the DG550

Neil Patrick Harris, eat your heart out, there’s a new Doogee in town. Yes, I’m aware of the spelling difference, but it’s how it sounds that matters. Heck, I’m not even sure the younger crowd even has a clue what I’m referring to (hey now, easy, I’m only 32 years young, har-har), but anyway… This phabulous phablet of a smartphone is loaded with features, potential and raw power, as you’ll soon observe.
The Doogee Dagger DG550 phablet, as sold by, is one seriously beautiful piece of tech. Not only does it have a rather thin (2.2mm) frame/bezel around the all-too-gorgeous 5.5″ HD IPS 5-point capacitive touch screen (sporting a resolution of 1280×720, 720p), but it’s lightweight (.18kg) and extremely thin (9mm/0.4″) as well. The overall dimensions of the DG550 are 153mm x 76mm x 9mm, but including the package you’re looking more at 200mm x 120mm x 40mm size and 0.46kg weight. Not bad at all, being that the package comes with the following contents:

1x Doogee Dagger DG550 Cell Phone
1x 2600mAh Battery
1x AC Power Adapter
1x Micro-USB Cable (new, innovative-yet-standard design)
1x Earphone set
1x English Manual
Rockin’ out with a 1.7Ghz MTK6592 Octa Core CPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM (this is the storage capacity, which will actually be slightly less due to the Android operating system being installed onto this ROM chip), Google Android operating system, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 3G, GPS, BlueTooth 4.0, GSM+WCDMA support (GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, WCDMA 850/2100MHz frequencies), a 13.0MP camera on back (with flash light and AutoFocus), a 3.0MP camera in front (both can capture photo and video), a TF/MicroSD slot (knowingly supports up to 32GB cards for storage expansion), Dual SIM, Dual Standby, a single 3.5mm headphone jack, this beast is loaded to the hilt with features! It also supports English, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Catala, Cestina, Dansk, Deutsch, Espanol, Filipino, French, Hrvatski, Zulu, Italiano, Kiswahili, Latviesu, Lietuviu, Magyar, Nederlands, Norsk, Polish, Portuguese, Romana, Rumantsch, Slovencina, Suomi, Svenska, Vietnamese, Turkish, Greek, Bulgarian, Russian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Hebrew, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Thai, Korean, Japanese and Simplified/Traditional Chinese languages (If you need any non-English languages, you must leave them a message about it when you go to check out). Other features – basically standard by today’s definition – are People, MMS, Calculator, Gravity Sensing and Video Calls.
Natively-supported file types/formats include photo PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP; music/audio AAC, MP3, WAV; video AVI, MP4, 3GP; MS Office PPT, Word, Excel; E-books PDF, TXT; games Android APK. It can even broadcast content, up to 1080p quality, to an HDTV wirelessly over WiFi.
With a killer price tag of $165.57 USD (normally $218.86) and free shipping, the Doogee Dagger DG550 is a seriously slick smartphone that you won’t find yourself wanting to throw or stab somebody with, har-har. Seriously though, it’s a pretty swift beast that’s poised to strike and has the power to back it up too. There’s so much that the DG550 can do, it’s so powerful, so responsive and so fast, you’ll find yourself wondering how you ever lived without it.
This phone is currently available in either black or white (both are gloss) on with a price at $165.57 USD, shipped. It also comes unlocked, by the way, so as to not lock you into any specific carrier and ultimately providing you peace of mind and freedom of service choice.

I honestly have to say, that if I had the chance to get one of these DG550 phablets, I’d have a difficult time not doing so, and my hat’s off to anyone who does. This truly is a great little device for anyone to have in their possession. With that being said, it seems it’s time for me to go, so until next time… I’m Ronald “DMNKLR” Smith for, presenting you with yet another beastly beauty of a mobile device, and always remember folks, that I want to know what you want to know about. ;)
