March 2011 was a great month for traffic growth and also showed a steady uptick in both Amazon affiliate earnings and AdSense earnings.   In the month of March 2011 Dragonblogger.com brought in almost 40k unique visits and just over 50k Pageviews.

You can see that most traffic 61% still comes from Google search engines and some recent trends on Firefox 4, Dragon Age 2 were among my top search topics for the month of March.  Referring sites mostly continue to consist of Mgid, StumbleUpon, Twitter, BlogEngage and Facebook as the primary traffic drivers to my site.  One thing I saw toward the end of the month was a drop off in traffic as Dragon Age 2 no longer was a “new trending topic” and this can show the dangers of relying too heavily on trends and Google searches to bring in steady traffic when trends wane and lose popularity.

Dragon Blogger Earnings

Earnings turned out to be slightly lower than February 2011, but still grossed over $400 which makes this the first time for three months in a row my blogging efforts have consistently grossed over $400 for 3 consecutive months.  AdSense continues to lead as the single largest portion of income with over $158 making it the 2nd month over $150 was earned from AdSense as well.  Direct advertising continues to be a good source of revenue for my primary blog and SocialSpark once again is the single highest paying blogging platform.  I should also note this is my highest monthly Amazon Associate income month as well.

Though I had $419.62 in income, I also made $95 in payments to my writers in March 2011 and this covered both February 2011 payouts as well as freelance fee’s for helping me write articles and reviews.  This was the most I had paid out to writers in a single month as well and most of these earnings are split between two writers at this time.

In Summary

In October 2010 I decided to take my blog from single author to multi-author and now a few months later not only am I not having to spend as much time writing articles my site continues to earn more income and I have consistent writers who provide quality articles and are establishing their own fanbase here on DragonBlogger.com.  I am very proud of how far my site has come in the past two years and considering I blog part time I think my goals are slowly being realized.
