The Magical Quill at Hogwarts is busy scribbling down the names of talented magical individuals that will gain access to Pottermore. In the wee hours of Sunday morning Pacific Time, the very first clue to obtain early access by securing one of those quills was posted. True to her credo of “follow the owl” the riddle itself had to do with owls. It specifically reads as follows: “How many breeds of owl are featured on the Eeylops Owl Emporium sign? The first hint did not appear easily however. I staked out all the big and small Harry Potter sources to obtain any scrap of information. After hanging around the clever witches and wizards of Team Portkey, we were able to compile a slew of information. Each day according to the Pottermore Insider – a new clue will be provided that will also be focused on one of the books of the series. Since Day 1 passed, the second clue will naturally be based on Book 2.
An important thing to remember when you find out the clue is to enter the answer in the url bar of your browser in this format:
http://quill.pottermore.com/answer
Due to the site being accessible by a variety of languages, my theory is that clues will be numerical, since numbers are universal. Understand that this is just an educated guess and not necessarily solid. The times such clues are posted doesn’t seem to be reliant on time zones either. Once again the Pottermore Insider reveals that they will be at random times and never announced – which means you might want to keep an eye on this page or the @dragonbloggers Twitter if we happen to notice something of interest ;).
There is a limited window each clue can be completed and within the first hour I already saw a post on the Pottermore Insider stating that the number of entries have maxed. As the screenshot indicates, solving a clue and registering an account does not necessarily mean you are ready to browse Pottermore. In order to do so you need to wait to receive a Welcome Email (not the Validation Email) – which will allow you to browse Pottermore in an as-is state. The moment I or one of our other Dragonblogger staffers receive such an email we will make sure to post all the insider previews and give you oodles of screencaps.
