How many bloggers have comment close policies? Do you close your comments after a set interval or leave them open indefinitely?
You should set a blog commenting policy early on so that you give your readers and commenters a clear statement of what you will and will not accept in comments.
Make sure you actively engage the readers who comment on your blog, you can use this to help establish trust, relationships and promote further.
Ironically in my fifteen months of blogging I have not run across the issue of “killing” comments that disagreed with the blogger, is this normal practice?
