YouTube is an online platform and its users are used to experiencing content online. That’s the way things have been every since YouTube was launched, so why would anyone want to download their YouTube videos onto their computers or devices? One of the biggest perks of watching videos online is that you don’t have to use up all your local storage. Technology is slowly moving away from localized content altogether, opting for the more efficient streaming solutions for video and audio. In a digital era where everything seems to be heading through a streaming funnel, why would you want to download YouTube videos locally? Here are some pretty good reasons for which you should try.

Preservation

On YouTube, content is never safe. Even a video with millions of views can be gone in a matter of moments. One day it’s there and the next it’s gone as if it never existed. There are many reasons for which a video can disappear off of the face of YouTube. The most common one is copyright infringement. Videos that use bits of other videos or even films, or use a song without the appropriate rights can be kicked to the curb as soon as the rightful owner of that content claims said right. If you really love a video, your best bet of having it available permanently is to download it to your device.

Access

Today, most people that would want to watch video content have access to the internet access. With the internet being such an important part of today’s society, it’s hard to image life without it. However, as secure, stable and powerful as today’s internet connections might be, the truth is that we are still hanging by a thread when it comes to accessing all this content. If your power goes down or something happens to the internet line, you are sent back into the Dark Ages, with no access to the online world whatsoever. However, if you were to save your favorite clips, online shows or even documentaries on your device, any such tragedy would be immediately alleviated.

Portability

Another one of the internet’s great gifts is that of portability. The internet allows us through different means to carry any form of content we need, digitally. You can access your accounts and online storage services from any computer with an internet connection, making it very easy to gain access to your entire music collection, video library or even audiobook stash, no matter where you are. But what happens when you go to a place where there is no internet? What happens when you board a plane and suddenly you are not allowed access to the internet? In this situation, having downloaded an entire playlist of your favorite YouTube content would be a saving grace.

Today, youtube to mp3 conversions, or any format for that matter, is a piece of cake.  Not only does downloading videos in a desired format accessible, but also a mandatory tool for any YouTube fanatic that doesn’t want to ever lose access to their favorite content.
