All of us have seen many posts about blogging mistakes. What would we (you) do if we came upon a new mistake (in an article) ? We have decided (and acted) accordingly, so that we make never “do” that mistake. But In my opinion (a strong suggestion), its good to make mistakes. Mistakes are portals of discovery. In this post, we will talk about “why we shouldn’t avoid blogging mistakes ?”.
Let’s start out post with an inspirational quote from Thomas Alva Edison :-
“Many of life’s failures are people who didn’t realize how close they were to success when they gave up”.
Why Mistakes are Important ?
Blogging Mistakes are experiences. Each mistake is a valuable lesson. Mistakes are important because they will help you prepare for further mistakes. They will also give you some amazing unique experiences through which you can improve your performance through blogging (i.e. they enable you to write quality posts.). Blogging Mistakes matter because they are an experience. It wouldn’t be fun if you were to succeed in everything in your life (well, no one would be able to do that). As you may have seen in the Movie, Meet the Robinsons, “keeping moving forward”. Failures are stepping stones to success. Haven’t you heard of this quote a hundred times ? Successful bloggers are the ones who don’t quit when they come upon a mistake. They learn, analyze and review their mistake (they will learn from it and move on). Example : Thomas Alva Edison faced many obstacles while looking for the right chemical for the bulb. He tried and tried. He had to test 100s of chemicals before he could find the right one. Edison didn’t give up when he was faced with failures. Rather he took them as a good lesson. He moved on with his experiment, just like a successful blogger would do. Successful Bloggers are the ones who face their mistakes. They don’t avoid it. As bloggers, we should never avoid the obstacles. FACE THEM, with determination. Successful bloggers are BOLD. It takes boldness to accept your failures and learn from them.
Let me tell you what a failure can give you :-
1) A Unique Experience
You learned something new, right ? Even if you don’t agree with me, I will tell you that each mistake will a unique experience. As James Joyce once said “A man’s errors are his portals of discovery”.
2) A New Post
A mistake will often give you ideas to write about (At least you could write about the mistake).
So, its a great advantage if you do a mistake. But as I said earlier, you need to follow some steps to make the most your mistake. Let’s take a look at what we must do :-
Why did you make the mistake ? Primary reason for the mistake ? Was it a technical mistake ? Was it an experiment (many bloggers conduct different kinds of experiments in their blog). The best way to analyze what you did is to write down a list – a list of what you did (that triggered the mistake). Don’t forget to BE BOLD.
The Next thing is to learn something new. The best way to learn is to look at the list that you wrote down earlier. You must also learn not to do the mistake one more time (“Tasting” failures is good for you; but you must never do the same mistake).
Analyze and Learn. These two steps are that difficult to follow. The third and the final (hardest) step is to :-
III) Apply your mistake to your blog
Use your knowledge and apply it to your posts. Share it with others.
Let me tell you one of the biggest mistakes that I did :-
I should have switched to WordPress much earlier. But, using blogger.com has helped me to mold by blogging knowledge. It told me what I should do to succeed in blogging. Now, I am glad that I did this mistake. If I had started out my blogging career on WordPress, I would have surely failed. Because, unless you know what you are doing, you are not going to succeed in blogging.
That is all I have to day about Blogging Mistakes. They are amazing. They are wells of knowledge. Be sure to face any obstacles that you may come upon. Note : Facing Mistakes can also help you with developing an Optimistic Attitude it helps you to strengthen your character ; personality). Hope you enjoyed my article.
