Microsoft Office Excel has always been a workplace staple. It’s one of the most (if not THE MOST) popular spreadsheet applications at the disposal of the modern worker. You use it to calculate your taxes, fill out forms, and just about any task that requires documentation and report creation.

So, to even say something along the lines of “Excel can be fun!” is outrageous. Or is it? Excel can be used for a lot of things but it doesn’t mean it’s limited to boring, old office-based tasks. Sure enough, you can use the application to play really great games!

Sounds too unusual to be true, but honestly, it is. There are tons of games you can play on an Excel spreadsheet. Whether it’s your downtime at the office or your home Wi-Fi is being repaired, these Excel games will provide oodles of fun, despite being played on a not-so fun piece of tech.

If you have a fondness for numbers, you can use Excel for making math a lot more fun. There are tons of puzzles that are available for your enjoyment, so you can have a fun time completing your sudoku cards anytime.

4. Maze

Oh, the many wonders you can do with an Excel spreadsheet! Do you know you can create gorgeous 3D mazes using the software? It’s possible, and there’s actually a game that’s based on that premise. It doesn’t have the kind of graphics you would expect even from Minecraft, but the fact that it’s made purely in Excel makes it all the more interesting to play.

Sure enough, Battleship is just one of many memorable games that can be recreated using Excel.
