Out of all the products I’ve been able to test through the years at Dragonblogger, the AIRSTIK Cradle has been one of the most interesting. On the surface, it doesn’t look like it should work. It holds any device against glass or a mirror for any length of time you want. At first, I thought it was definitely too good to be true and had mental visions of my iPhone falling to the floor while testing it out. Thankfully, the AIRSTIK didn’t fail during any of my tests and exceeded every expectation I had for it.
Overall use
As soon as I opened the package from Amazon, I went right to my nearest window to test it out. You simply take off the plastic coating, make sure the surface you’re about to stick it to is clean (if it’s a dusty window, it probably won’t hold, just FYI), and stick it. That’s it. No special tools required.
So far, I’ve used the AIRSTIK in the gym to hold my phone to do workouts, in the bathroom to listen to music while I get ready, and in my kitchen to follow along with a recipe. I’m sure there are a lot of things I’ll be using it for with more time.
More features
The size of the AIRSTIK Cradle is perfect and holds two pounds. Considering how hard it sticks to glass, I’d guess it could possibly hold more, but at the same time, I wouldn’t necessarily experiment to find out. It sticks to mirrors, windows, glass, and glass-like surfaces so you can use these practically anywhere. It even held up in a room with high humidity (while taking a bath), but full-disclosure, I tested it with a book instead of my phone just in case. Thankfully, it held up even after some time. I never even had an issue of it semi-slipping or becoming loose when using it.
The fact that you can use it over and over is one of my favorite parts. It doesn’t lose its stick over time, unlike some other similar products. Just be sure that the surface you’re sticking it to is clean, otherwise, it has the potential to fall. Even if something looks clean, it doesn’t hurt to wipe it down an extra time to be sure.
