Testing Converting Video Files with Allavsoft for Windows

So I usually work with a lot of video files and find that dedicated video converters tend to work much faster than video editors if you are just wanting to convert a single video format to another file type and resolution.

So I was testing Allavsoft and I wanted to convert a 150MB .MOV file to MP4 with high conversion. One of the features I did like about Allavsoft was that you can instantly chose to lower the volume or increase the volume of output videos. They also have the ability to start/stop at different times to ‘trim’ video but it lacks a preview or way to see exactly which scenes and where to start/end your cut inside the app itself which makes it a bit more tedious.

So in 23 seconds total, I converted my .MOV file to MP4 and it was fast and video quality was just fine. This was a good way to chunk out larger .MOV files from an iPhone into smaller and more manageable mp4 files for editing or sharing.

It can merge F4F files into a single output file, but it only does merging with F4F files.

You can also use the software to backup your YouTube Channel or Vimeo channel but it does require you to paste multiple vid URL’s one URL at a time, you can’t simply point it to your YT channel and backup your YT content and convert it to a different format for keeping on a local backup. Though you can cut/paste a playlist URL and backup a playlist specifically.

Allavsoft supports converting video to audio formats as well and you can convert video files to MP3, WAV, AAC, WMA, M4A, FLAC etc audio formats.

It also can be used as an audio conversion tool as well and save time there, it can convert between all kinds of audio formats like OPUS, Vorbis, AAC, AC3, DTS, ALAC, OGG, OGA, MP3, WAV, FLAC, WMA, XWM, 3GA, M4A, M4B, MKA, RA, RAM, APE, AU, AUD, AIFF, AIFC, CAF, MPC, QCP, VOC, VOX, GSM, DSS, etc.

Overall, I found the program to be a tad cheaper than software like Wondershare UniConverter by about $10 but it is not as feature rich or as polished as more polished video converter software out there. The output format options are decent and the auto volume adjustment for multiple vids is one of the highlights for doing a batch job though.
