Today, January 6, the CES 2025, the largest tech fair of the year, kicked off in Las Vegas, and it is sure to be filled with surprises from major brands like Samsung, Nvidia, Sony, LG, AMD, Meta, Qualcomm, Honda, and many more. Based on what has been presented on this first day, the main theme seems to lean towards innovation in artificial intelligence, which should come as no surprise.
While most of the major brands had their presentations later in the afternoon/evening, many smaller and mid-sized brands took advantage of the early hours to make announcements, whether launching new products, updates, or new innovations to stay competitive in the 2025 market.

Samsung Goes All-In on AI
Samsung had a major presentation that highlights its intention to revolutionize the market with new and improved technology, particularly in artificial intelligence and home device integration. Their new vision is called “AI for All.” During the presentation, alongside sharing relevant data on its progress in integrating devices like TVs, phones, watches, kitchens, and more with AI assistance, Samsung also emphasized the importance of ensuring the use of AI is secure for users, maintaining privacy.
What about new launches? Samsung announced the implementation of new technologies in its screens, such as 8K AI Upscaling Pro, Auto HDR Remastering Pro, and Color Booster Pro, designed to offer higher image quality. These new technologies will be used in their new Neo QLED 8K QN990F TV model, which also features a powerful NQ8 AI Gen3 processor capable of enhancing all AI-related processes in real-time.
The new Galaxy Book5 Pro and Galaxy Book5 360 laptops were other innovations with which Samsung seeks to dominate the market, integrating advanced AI functions powered by an Intel® Core™ Ultra (Series 2) processor. We don’t fully know what they can offer yet, but what we do know is that Samsung promised this new AI revolution will surprise us all.
Nvidia Announces the GeForce RTX 50 Series
Nvidia’s announcement is definitely the wildest of the night. The new RTX 50 series graphics cards will be available at the end of January. They are the RTX 5090 ($1,999), RTX 4080 ($999), RTX 4070 Ti ($749), and the RTX 5070 ($549).
Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, said the RTX 5070 would outperform the RTX 4090, which is priced around $1,500. He mentioned that without AI, it would be impossible to achieve this, so once again, we see how artificial intelligence enables new wonders that enhance performance without the need for giant graphics cards.
To put into perspective just how powerful Nvidia’s new RTX 5090 graphics card is, it will be more than twice as powerful thanks to the integration of DLSS 4 technology, which is much better than the DLSS 3.5 used in the previous series. This will allow full ray tracing with over 200 FPS in 4K using the RTX 5090 while running Cyberpunk 2077, according to the video posted by Nvidia on its official YouTube channel. This represents more than 50% more FPS compared to the RTX 4090. And yes, I’m not a professional in this field, but AI is what’s really solving much of the work to make this possible.
In addition to the new graphics card series announcement, Nvidia showcased its commitment to collaborate in driving artificial intelligence development. Its new automotive computer, Thor, promises to revolutionize the automotive world and attract some of the biggest brands in this sector.
So, we shouldn’t be surprised if we see amazing collaborations anytime this year.
Sony Partners with Honda to Launch Its First Electric Vehicle: Afeela 1
Sony’s presentation wasn’t left behind either, as they reported some interesting launches, such as their new electric vehicle, AFEELA. It will have an initial price of $89,000 for the AFEELA 1 Origin and $102,900 for the AFEELA 1 Signature. It promises to incorporate a new concept of integrated artificial intelligence for a unique experience, so we’ll see if this historic collaboration manages to surprise the automotive audience.
Sony also announced Horizon Zero Dawn and Helldivers 2 movies, a Ghost of Tsushima anime, and showed trailers for season 2 of The Last of Us. They emphasized how important it is to remain a leader in the film industry, so it wouldn’t be surprising if we see previews of their new camera lines at some point this year.
