Dead by Daylight is practically the only game I currently enjoy playing in my free time, although I have to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of video games at the moment. However, despite being a game that is more than 10 years old, it is still quite entertaining for me, especially because Behaviour Interactive has continued updating the game and adding some pretty interesting modes and characters.

Some time ago, Behaviour Interactive confirmed and showed some of the major updates planned for the future. It was during the DBD 10th Anniversary Broadcast that they revealed all these new features, so for the first time, we could be looking at a major change in graphical quality, along with more realistic mechanics.

During the broadcast, they shared interesting information about the major visual improvements coming in 2027, the new Mall map, official modding, a new 1v1 mode, a Zombie Mode prototype, the arrival of Terrifier in the game, and Chorus of Sin, a fan-created chapter that will arrive on August 25, 2026.

Of all these new features, the graphical improvements, both visual and physics-related, are definitely the most interesting to me. I think DBD has improved relatively little over the years. If we compare it to the earliest versions of the game, it may actually be a significant change, but I feel like the graphics have been stuck in the same place for a long time.

For example, here we can see Claudette Morel, one of DBD's iconic survivors, with major visual improvements, especially focused on realism, which could become a reality sometime in 2027.

We don't know exactly when these improvements will arrive. They will also include dynamic weather effects such as rain and physics improvements, including more realistic survivor bodies when they are placed on hooks.

If you ask me, I think these improvements will arrive during the first few months of the year, but there is no exact release date at the moment. These graphical improvements will probably also increase the system requirements, unless DBD somehow manages to work some magic with optimization. I think it is one of the few games that can currently run on almost any low-end computer.
