Sometimes, too much free time can feel overwhelming, especially when we can’t leave the house for different reasons. While checking social media can be an option, it can also be stressful. Luckily, there are interesting websites on the internet that can entertain us during those boring moments.
After a little research, I discovered that there are hundreds of websites created specifically to entertain. Some may seem unhelpful, while others are interesting. That’s why I prefer to choose five that are fun and interesting.
1- Geoguessr
Geoguessr is one of the most popular and educational pages. In it, users compete to guess where they are based on an image, which forces them to learn about culture to improve their level. It’s an amazing site for those who want to learn about culture and geography worldwide. Instead of simply memorizing countries and capitals, you can become more competitive by knowing a lot more just by looking at a picture. A few years ago, it was completely free, but nowadays its content requires a subscription (although the minimum payment is quite low). Geoguessr also features tournaments where the best can win thousands of dollars.
2- Radio Garden
Radio Garden is a free website that compiles thousands of radio stations from all over the world, allowing you to listen to what is broadcast in real time in other countries. It’s a great way to entertain yourself during boring times and can also be a great help for those who are learning a new language. The page is interactive and easy to use you simply need to rotate the world and select any green dot, which represents a radio station running in real-time.
3- ThisIsSand
ThisIsSand may seem like a simple page, but it’s quite entertaining, especially for those with good drawing skills. In it, users can create anything simply by using tiny colored grains that spread across the screen based on the movement of the pointer. Users can choose from a variety of colors, and if they are not satisfied with the result, they can start over.
4- MyRetroTVs
If you’re bored of Netflix series and prefer something old, then MyRetroTVs is the site for you. In it, you can find hundreds of shows, series, movies, cartoons, and much more. Each of the programs is divided by decades, so you can choose from the 50s onwards. MyRetroTVs is completely free, although it does offer an option for users to voluntarily donate to help keep the site running.
The universe is littered with thousands of stars, and 100,000 Stars allow you to explore them in a fun way while learning about their age, characteristics, distance, and much more. It’s easy to use you just need to move the pointer and slide the scroll wheel, then you can select from the thousands of stars available.
These five pages offer a variety of fun and enriching experiences to eliminate boredom. From geographical challenges to radio trips around the world, artistic creativity, and TV nostalgia, there’s something for everyone. Explore, learn, and have fun with these online options!
