Genshin Impact is turning a year old in September of this year and it is ever-improving still. If you’re a fan of different worlds and gods, you might get hooked. So, how did it take the world by storm despite a short amount of time? It’s a free high-quality game! The visuals and gameplay of this game are no joke. Not to mention the wide variety of characters you could play with that could easily capture your heart.
Players of RPG and open worlds have been enjoying this game so far, so we’ve decided to make a list of similar games for your convenience. All of these games could be found on Google Play, so make sure to get some Google Play Gift Cards to top-up on your in-game currencies! Read on to find out.
SoulWorker
First off is SoulWorker, a story about portals, demons, and from the name itself, souls. It’s almost the same as Genshin Impact in terms of visuals and gameplay. In this post-apocalyptic game, you’ll need great timing and spot-on decisions. It’s gacha based but only for fashion, not for the characters.
The downside might be the gender lock and its limited character choices with only 6 characters. It has an energy system as well so if you prefer playing long hours, this game’s not going to work for you. Aside from these, it’s very similar to Genshin Impact so try it out.
Dragalia Lost
Next is Dragalia Lost, which has great visuals and a good storyline. If you’re a dragon fanatic, then this is your game. Controls are basic swipes and taps with other buttons for different actions. It’s similar to Genshin Impact since it also uses the Gachapon System as well as being a high-quality free-to-play game. Not to mention the crossover events Dragalia Lost has planned for the future with franchises like Monster Hunter and Persona 5!
Why should you give it a go? The levels in this game are short and simple. You get to enjoy high-quality graphics and no sweat gameplay all at the same time. So if you’re someone who enjoys low-key RPG with a fantastic storyline, this is for you.
Bleach: Brave Souls
Are you a fan of Bleach? If yes, you’re in luck! Bleach: Brave Souls is based on the popular Japanese manga series. It features almost every character from the Bleach franchise and it has its own unique story apart from the original story of both anime and manga combined.
If you haven’t played it yet, do it! Gacha wise, it’s great. The modes are also a lot to choose from. Whichever mode you’re comfortable in, you could play with ease even if you’re just a casual player. This game is also old, so the user experience is not so good. It has all the usual issues that old games do. Glitches, bugs, a terrible menu layout, and the like. Well, all games have their flaws but if you’re a fan of Bleach, we highly suggest playing this.
Honkai Impact 3rd
An upgraded version of Genshin Impact? Yeah, you heard that right. Honkai Impact 3rd is a sci-fi-based game that also has a gacha system in place. Characters are definitely a feast for the eyes that players would really need to work hard for in order to collect.
Compared to Genshin Impact, the story is much more complex and the combat is more offbeat which may have been taken from a shonen or an action anime. If you hated Genshin Impact‘s slow-paced gameplay and probably got tired of the effortless combat, you should try this one!
Phantasy Star Online 2
Another sci-fi-based game is Phantasy Star Online 2. If you adore mechas, this game would surely be a favorite. It’s about colonizing other planets and protecting the universe from Falspawn’s threat. It has great graphics either in low or high settings. Smooth combat and different modes to play as well. You also get costumes for free, how sweet is that?
What we’re saddened about this game is how the storyline was underdeveloped. It has a lot of potential to be honest. They gave priority to gameplay and just left the story half-baked but we should’ve known better as that’s how its predecessor was released as well. If you don’t focus that much when it comes to story or plot, then we would suggest you play this game since everything else is good.
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius
If you’ve been playing RPGs since way back in the old days, you’d have Final Fantasy on your list. Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius is an open-world exploration game and features a turn-based combat style that also uses a gacha system. It’s one of the best gacha games out there. The story is about a knight, magic crystals, and a common foe called Veritas of the Dark.
It does have outdated controls and the story is slowly paced since it utilizes an energy limit system so it would really take some time to progress. This is a pretty laid-back game and we propose giving this a chance if you like to just chill and take your time playing it. This is one of those must-play games for all Final Fantasy and RPG fans everywhere.
Blade & Soul
Last but not least would be Blade & Soul. If you’re a fan of martial arts then you need to check this out. It’s full of action, a well-developed storyline, appealing characters, and what we liked about this is its simple interface since it’s user-friendly. Some games are so complicated so this is something we applaud this game for.
The character moves slowly so the travel time would cause people without patience annoyance and also, it might give you a hard time if you figure things out pretty slow since the combat system is kind of advanced. Those are two things we could see that might affect the experience but so far, this game is almost perfect so look it over.
Summary
That’s about seven games in total that are highly recommended for you to play if you’re looking for something close to Genshin Impact. There are a lot of other games you could play which has the same gameplay, visuals, and all that but you get to decide which one works best for you.
Personally, we enjoy games that focus on their stories above everything else but if it has great visuals and gameplay, then it’s a bonus. So, come try out these games, who knows you might find a favorite here!
