GTA 6 Extended Look: Everything Shown in the New Gameplay Reveal

After a long wait and a major controversy surrounding leaks, the GTA 6 Extended Look was finally released. It runs for around 26 minutes and shows a lot of new content that will be available once GTA 6 officially launches on November 19, 2026.

What was new?

I think what surprised most people was that this was not really an event. Personally, I expected it to be a presentation explaining the mechanics available in GTA 6, with some moments showing gameplay footage. However, Rockstar Games chose to make absolutely everything shown visually part of GTA 6, without any narration.

A large portion of what was shown was mainly focused on the game’s story, which seems to indicate that we will have a world filled with major problems involving crime, drugs, and different illegal activities, something that is quite common in the Grand Theft Auto universe. However, I saw a much more interactive world with many more things to do compared to GTA 5.

One of the main focuses of everything shown was the relationship between Jason and Lucia. They will be able to participate in different activities together, but we will also be able to control each of them separately depending on the situation.

There was a lot of action, and I think the graphics look pretty amazing, especially outdoors. It is simply the next level of graphics, despite some criticism regarding the visuals that were shown. However, I have to admit that in some situations, especially in dark indoor areas, I felt the game could have done a better job. It reminded me a little of GTA 5’s graphics in those situations, but overall, this is a huge graphical leap.

It seems to have been recorded natively on a PS5

If what Rockstar Games says is true, the footage shown was recorded natively on a PS5. However, I don’t know if this has anything to do with the poor performance Netflix experienced, but I felt the game was very close to 30 FPS, which was already somewhat expected.

I don’t think the PS5 has enough power to run GTA 6 at high frame rates while still maintaining decent graphical quality, but I think the PS5 Pro will probably come closer to achieving that.

I think the truly interesting question is how much better this game could look on a powerful gaming PC, allowing players to experience its full graphical potential. Keep in mind that the PS5 is limited to hardware components that were originally released in 2020, so around six years have already passed.

What I didn’t like about the Extended Look

I think there was a lot of story content, but most players don’t care that much about the story. I mean, it is fun, but most of the time, players are exploring and causing chaos throughout the city.

So, I think the presentation could have shown a little more of the open world and exactly what players will be able to do. I’m not just talking about the cities, but also the countryside. You know, players want the map to feel much more alive, which was something GTA 5 received a lot of criticism for.

Looking at the reactions from most players, what was shown seems to have lived up to the expectations of the majority. However, it won’t be until November 19 that players can discover for themselves everything there is to do and what the game will actually look like.
