The Apple Pro Vision was launched at the beginning of February (just over two months ago) but has already seen a drop in sales considerably. While many users seemed surprised by this technology, it was only a matter of time before most users realized that it is neither a new technology nor is it here to revolutionize the world.
While the model that Apple Pro Vision promised looked quite promising, many improvements are required in the comfort section, it is already one of the main reasons why there have been thousands of returns over the last few weeks.
Is it an inherent problem with the device’s performance? Not exactly, the Apple Pro Vision is quite powerful and although they have few compatible applications, it is a matter of time for new applications and updates to improve the lack that exists. So why does convenience pose a challenge for users?
Dizziness and headaches
The new Apple Pro Vision has come under fire due to its lack of comfort, with several users experiencing severe dizziness. This is quite concerning, especially since many users use them while walking down the street. Although it’s not clear why this occurs, it’s likely due to eye strain, especially after wearing them for extended periods, such as more than an hour. The dizziness and headaches mentioned by users, including Adam Preiser, in their negative comments on platform X, have prompted many others to chime in on this issue as well.
Futuristic technology but not practical
I don’t want to sound like I’m contradicting myself, but I see the Apple Pro Vision as a dream come true for the future. However, its design does not seem to be up to current needs. They can offer impressive benefits in a controlled environment, but when used outdoors, the story changes. They are uncomfortable to wear (and to top it off, they attract a lot of attention) and can be dangerous if users become too disconnected from the reality around them.
Cost more than $3000
The technology should indeed be revolutionary, but the Meta Quest 3 doesn’t fulfill most of the necessary tasks? While perhaps not at the same level, their affordable price tag of less than $500 makes them a tempting option, especially for those who enjoy mixed reality and gaming. On the other hand, the Apple Vision Pro seems more professional-oriented. While they promise solid performance in that regard, their features are quite limited compared to other options, so many users decided to keep waiting to give them a new chance in the future.
Is the Apple Pro Vision a failure?
Despite its highly anticipated release, its lack of comfort has drawn criticism. The dizziness and headaches they cause, especially when using them outdoors, have resulted in numerous returns. Although they have powerful technology, their current design does not meet the practical needs of users. In addition, their high price makes them less attractive compared to cheaper and more versatile alternatives such as the Meta Quest 3. They still have a lot of room for improvement before they become widely accepted and used devices.
