GTA 6 pre-orders have been live for a few weeks now, but many players still aren't sure how to pre-order the game and have it ready to play on launch day. The Physical Edition Includes a Case, but No Disc
The physical edition of GTA 6 comes with a game case, but instead of a physical disc, you'll find a digital download code that can be redeemed on your PlayStation or Xbox account.
While some fans may find this disappointing, it's still a better option than buying the digital version directly, since you'll at least receive a collectible physical case for the same price.
It's a controversial decision, but Rockstar is reportedly planning to release a true physical disc edition a few months later. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet. For now, the first physical release will include a download code rather than a game disc.
How to Pre-Order GTA 6
If you want the fastest option, you can pre-order GTA 6 digitally through the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store. This gives you instant access to the digital version, but you won't receive any physical items.
If you'd rather own a collectible copy, you can pre-order the physical edition from retailers like Amazon.
Both versions will allow you to pre-load the game starting on November 12, so you'll be ready to play as soon as the servers go live on November 19, 2026. Pre-ordering is the best way to avoid downloading what will likely be hundreds of gigabytes on launch day.
