I have to admit that it's been a long time since I last covered a gaming laptop, so I think this is a good time to do it. Christmas is approaching, and some of you might be thinking about treating yourselves to a new laptop or even getting a gaming laptop for someone you know who would really enjoy one.

Whatever the reason, the idea is to get a powerful gaming laptop capable of handling the next big game releases. Of all the upcoming games, GTA 6 is still one of the most anticipated titles for me, although it will be released on consoles first.

But as you already know, games are becoming increasingly demanding, so having a powerful laptop will help you enjoy upcoming releases with great graphics and a smooth gaming experience.

So, if you're looking for a good option, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 is one of my first recommendations.

Here are some of its main features

One of its main features is its Intel Core i7-14650HX processor, paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card featuring Blackwell architecture. This combination allows you to run demanding games and take advantage of technologies like DLSS 4, which can improve gaming performance in real time using artificial intelligence.

Average performance in popular games:

  • Forza Horizon 5: 85 FPS
  • The Witcher 3: 127 FPS
  • Hogwarts Legacy: 73 FPS
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III: 100 FPS
  • Ghost of Tsushima: 67 FPS
  • Cyberpunk 2077: 82 FPS

The 16-inch display features an FHD+ resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 165 Hz refresh rate, and a 3 ms response time. It also incorporates an ACR film that improves contrast and reduces reflections.

It also comes with 16 GB of DDR5 RAM, a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and Windows 11 Home. Its 360-degree RGB lighting can be customized, and there's also a stealth mode that allows you to turn it off.
