Consider this; a device that can transmit your favorite Youtube videos, stream your favorite Netflix movies, or your favorite television shows online – from your PC or laptop – directly to your television, without restricting the programs you can watch thereby allowing you to enjoy your favorite programs. Veebeam is a wireless USB (WUSB) device that can be controlled directly from your PC or laptop – without the need to use your television remote control. The Veebeam does not need to download movies or TV shows to your television in order for it to work. All you need to do is install the Veebeam application (program) on your laptop, and plug-in the dongle (a device that attaches your PC/laptop to control the installed application). There you can choose from the option menu that appears on your PC/laptop screen:  Screencast or Play – To:

  • Screen Cast Mode – The default mode, displays on your laptop to share whatever shows that appear on your laptop from websites –  from laptop to TV!
  • Play – to Mode (video play mode) – is used when you are playing downloaded media. You can stream movies from your computer to your television, while you are still online surfing the web; or sending email!

The Veebeam comes in two-parts; you can use the HDMI-connected receiver; and a USB antenna. Setup is simple, connect the Veebeam (image to the right) to your TV; install the application software on your laptop or PC; and plug in the antenna. When the device is activated, wait a couple of minutes and you will see a small “V” logo on your system tray turn “green,” which indicates that you are linked to the receiver. Thereafter, whatever is on your laptop will appear on your television screen. So, go on and play your favorite movie or visit your favorite sites; go on Hulu.com, send email, etc. The Veebeam allows you to watch anything streaming in full HD on your living room television – for streaming programs online, without the inconvenience of watching your shows on a small laptop screen. “Transmits anything you can see on your computer screen onto your TV – no wires, no clutter, and takes only a few minutes to set up. The unit itself is sleek and unobtrusive and the signal is even effective through a wall. The new HD model streams up to 1080p for a crisp, clean and colourful picture and optical audio output allow you to enjoy your surround sound.” Veebeam Standard (SD) $99.00 Key Features:

Gamers, the Veebeam will not work with any PC or online games, the Veebeam streams whatever media that is on your laptop.
