Canon has also entered the vlogging camera market. Setting aside the marketing, we are talking about compact cameras that can easily fit in your pocket and work well for both occasional trips and for influencers seeking convenience when filming outdoors. We are referring to the Canon PowerShot V10, a camera that promises to meet the needs of users looking for quality in a handheld device.
At Dragon Blogger, we are 100% impartial, so after analyzing the price and specifications, we believe it is not a perfect compact camera, especially if your plan is to shoot outdoors. Still, we think it is a good camera because it also has a strong point: photography.
Records up to 4K, but at 30fps
We believe this is the weakest point of this camera. 4K is the standard in most modern cameras, but a limit of 30 fps is a bit low, especially considering this camera costs nearly $500. That said, the sensor is 1 inch, which is larger than some compact cameras, so the final image offers more detail than other similar cameras.
3 Stabilization Modes
To achieve better footage in high-movement situations, the Canon PowerShot V10 has 3 stabilization modes. This is great because you can choose the one that best suits the activity you are performing. The modes are IS Off, IS On, and IS Enhanced. The main difference is that each mode crops the image to achieve better stabilization, which is a digital crop, except for the Off mode, which allows the widest recording range.
Battery Leaves Something to Be Desired
This is another drawback of this camera. The battery is non-removable and does not offer long-lasting performance per charge. When recording at 4K/30fps, the Canon PowerShot V10 lasts around 50 minutes, which is average, but we would like it to offer better autonomy. Again, this compact camera costs around $500.
The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Seems to Take the Win

Comparing both cameras, it becomes clear that the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 offers better specifications for about $80 more. However, the DJI camera provides mechanical 3-axis stabilization rather than digital, so footage in motion will look much better.
The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 can record at 4K and 120 fps, completely outperforming the 4K at 30 fps of the Canon PowerShot V10. Additionally, it offers over 2 hours of continuous recording, with the advantage of removable batteries. Therefore, it is worth paying a little extra for a camera that doesn’t have overheating issues.
