A number of times, affiliate marketing bloggers face the situation where they want to include a particular affiliate link for products that target their respective keywords. It would seem easy when you just want to link 1-2 keywords in an article but gets hectic if numerous articles want to include links to those keywords. It even gets worse when you want to target more than one particular keyword. So, how do you tackle such a situation?
We have already covered number of plugins which convert your particular keywords into affiliate links very easily but here is another one you may not have heard of. It is called AffiLinker and it does pretty much the same thing and on top of it, it also protects you from search engines by obfuscating your affiliate links in html source code.

What Do You Need to Do?
Install the plug-in right from here and try it. If you think it is running as per your expectation then buy it. Once you buy it, install it on your WordPress blog and click on AffiLinker. Enter your affiliate link URL in the provided box and enter keywords that you want to target. Now, sit back and watch affiliate links being added to your blog posts automatically. If you want to differentiate between affiliate links and actual links then you can do so by changing the colors from options available in the same area.
Which Colors Can You Change?
- Color of the link
- Background color of the link
- Hover color of the link
- Hover background color of the link
What Are The Other Options?
Well, apart from colors, you can change font size and fonts from the given list. You can also make them bold or italic. If that doesn’t suits what you want then you can add more link styling options. Moving on to controlling the behavior of AffiLinker, you can make affiliate links search friendly. It is not recommended to make them search friendly and therefore you will find default check-mark on the box saying add NoFollow. Similarly, you can change where to open the page once the link has been clicked by user. If you want to hide your link which appears on hover, you can keep the checkbox marked which says “Hide Affiliate Link with Professional Link”.
Example– If you are targeting the keyword buy abc product then it will hide the affiliate link by simply appending visit with keyword. It will look exactly as shown below
All these keywords can be grouped together to form a cloud widget. Yes, just like the one that you see for the tags on some blogs. How cool would it be to have a tag cloud where each tag was an affiliate link showing up on your pages?
How to Track Affilinker Links?
It’s very simple, the AffiLinker plug-in provides the tracking option in which all the unique and total clicks are provided with respective keywords.
General Settings for AffiLinker
No doubt, you can uncheck the box to make the plug-in inactive instead of removing it from your directory. By default, the numbers of links in each post are limited to 5. You can change it to anything you want. Be advised, not to over use these links however and keep the numbers reasonable per post. You can also control the number of same links for same keywords. There are number of settings that you can control including whether to add links on home page or comments, number of links in comments and number of same links in comments.
I mentioned above that you can hide the affiliate link which appears on hover with the special keyword. Well, you can change that special keyword from general settings.
