So all you cord cutters out there or wanna be cord cutters must have used or researched many options to get video to your TV(s).

I myself have done so and am doing so all the time.  My family and have been cord cutting for a few months now and I have been researching on and off for years.  I don’t think the research ever really ends so I continue.

As I continue to look the Beelink GTQ TV Box has been brought to my attention.  It is a bit of two worlds coming together to do not just streaming but a bit more.   It run Android 5.1 so you have access to Android APPS and games but also works as a media center hub.  This allows for streaming of your local video content as well as most of your streaming APPs.  So similar to a ROKU of an Amazon Fire TV you get access to Netflix, HBO Go or Now, HULU, and many others.  Oh did I mention I will be getting one of these to review in the next coming weeks too?

This Android TV Box also supports 4K people, the resolution of the NOW before it gets superseded by 8k.

Some added benefit is the fact it support KODI which is an open source home theater software which allows for local network content to be streamed to your TV.  I built my own PLEX server we currently use in the house which stream via ROKU and has done pretty well so far for us.  It is running on a little older PC so this Beelink GTQ TV box would be an upgrade hardware wise for us as well as providing some amenities  we don’t currently have with the PLEX/ROKU solution we are currently running.  A quick Google search make me think I can also stream to my ROKUs from the Beelink GTQ TV box so this could be a complete PLEX replacement for us.  PLEX has been a nice and cheap cord cutter test to determine if can be cord cutters.  So far so good so now it may be some time for a little investment in something like the Beelink GTQ TV box.

One thing I would be missing is a remote for the TV I may run the Beelink GTQ TV box on.  I found the UKB 500 Wireless Mini keyboard so I have full control of the Beelink GTQ TV box to use like a tablet almost on my TV.  Yea I can Chromecast to it but having it right on the TV with full control using the keyboard is somewhat of a geek dream for me.  I can use my tablet and use the TV with the Beelink box.  very cool for me in my world.

So this is going to be my next homw theater setup I am going to try.  I may still use PLEX or I may just jump with both feet into the Beelink GTQ TV box with both feet.  I think the Beelink and the UKB 500 keyboard will add to my families TV and content consumption and interaction like never before.

Oh did I mention the price?  The Beelink GTQ TV box is only $84.99 and the UKB 500 Keyboard is only $10.80 over at Gearbest and they have free worldwide shipping, so you get a whole Android TV solution for less than $100!  Remember when ordering to choose the proper adapter for your country, as they are a world wide retailer.
