Summer’s officially here, and since it’s difficult to part with certain items like tablets and phones, which are actually rather essential these days for efficient trip planning, you might as well pack gadgets that will help keep your tech charged up, as well as gadgets to help with peace and quiet.
USB Power Adapter
Since every device comes with one, this item may seem a bit weird to list, but in case you didn’t know, each charger puts juice into your devices at different rates. Most chargers say “1A” or “0.5A.” If you’re really lucky, your charger will say more than “2A.” So what does the “A” stand for? It means “Amps,” and a charger with more juice output will give life to your devices a lot faster.
USB Battery Pack
What’s cool about this product is you can charge two devices at the same time, like a phone and a tablet. They’re inexpensive to get, too, so recommending them is not a major chore. What is a USB battery pack, anyhow? It’s just a portable external battery pack to recharge all your devices.
Noise-Cancelling Headphones
You might want these on a busgy train ride someplace, because honestly, people can be quite loud, and a little quiet goes a long way. Bose puts out an excellent product as usual, either in earbud or regular headphone style.
USB Car Adapter
Believe it or not, there are some cars with built in USB plug-ins to charge your devices. But they’re not always the best quality. So get a good external adapter because it will provide a stronger stream of juice to your phone or tablet, plus if you use your phone for navigation, the built-in USB may not have enough juice, and the battery drains even if your phone is plugged in.
Portable Power Strip
You may think this is kind of strange to include, but many hotels have few usable power plugs. This is clearly a detriment if you’re not the only one with a device on this summer adventure. All you need is a three or four-outlet power strip, which should be suitable for you and the family. You can purchase portable power strip from Backcountry, their products are a bit pricey.
Translators
These are no longer science fiction, folks. Star Trek fans may remember the translator, a device that converts native alien tongues into a user’s—usually a human’s—language. This project was successfully crowdfunded, and the gadget translates 25 languages in real-time.
Petcube
This item’s for those folks who are anxiety-ridden about leaving man’s best friend at home. What this gadget does is connect to your home’s WiFi and a video stream allows you to keep an eye on pets when you’re out of the house. You can even speak to your pets and play with them via a two-way audio source, and a laser pointer.
Whatever your gadgetry needs this summer, make your vacation a happy one by including these gadgets in with your packing job. They will make your life just that bit easier.
