Only 2 days left before the release of Star Wars: Battlefront and DICE has revealed few changes they made to the game after receiving the feedbacks from the open beta. These changes were announced just shortly after the details of Star Wars: BattleFront Season Pass popped up on the Origin. The Season Pass will give you access to 4 expansion and more and will cost you $50.
Here’s the detail we know about the Season Pass from Origin’s Page:
- 4 epic expansion packs featuring brand new content set across the Star Wars™ galaxy including:
- Over 20 new pieces of galactic tech including weapons, vehicles, and Star Cards for both Rebels and Imperials
- 4 more heroes and villains for you to fight as or against
- 16 additional multiplayer maps featuring new locations
- 4 exciting new game modes
- Two-week early access to each expansion pack
- Exclusive “Shoot First” emote
Jakku DLC as announced before will be free for everyone and is not part of the Season Pass. Jakku DLC will be released on 8th of December for everyone but for those who have pre-ordered the game will get the access to the Jakku DLC 1 week early, means if you’ve pre-ordered the game, you’ll be able to play the 2 news maps of Jakku DLC on 1st December. While the 1st paid DLC of Battlefront is expected to be released early in 2016.
Now coming back to the changes made to the game after the feedback from the beta, DICE made four major changes public in their news article which are following:
- Partner and Party System
Joining and playing a game of Star Wars Battlefront with friends should be as easy and smooth as possible, and we’ve done several tweaks in this area. For instance, it will be possible to join a friend via the Xbox Friends app, and you’ll also be able to see your party friends in-game (look for green dots on the map) – but you cannot spawn on them. - Spawns
Speaking of spawning, we’ve listened to your feedback on how this was handled on Hoth. Here, we’ve added combat areas that are different for Rebels and Imperials to mitigate spawn camping, and the spawn distances for the two teams have been adjusted on the first uplink. - Vehicles and Weapons
To make your fights as fun and fair as possible, several tweaks to vehicles and weapons have been made. The Cycler Rifle, for instance, has been balanced with bullet drop and slower projectile speed for more deserving kills.Walkers should be mighty – but not invincible – so weak spots have been added to the AT-AT and AT-ST vehicles. Furthermore, damage balancing is vital for a fair game, and we’ve tweaked this balance for how vehicles, troopers, Star Cards, and ion weapons stand up against each other. - Heroes and Villains
Playing as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, or any other of the Star Wars Battlefront heroes and villains is something we want to feel truly special, and to achieve this we’ve made several tweaks. Two things we decided to remove were the automatic damage done to heroes over time, and the ability of getting health back when killing enemies. Ultimately, we think this will perfect the power fantasy of playing as these characters.
There are more changes being made to the game of course that haven’t been made public yet. Few people who have access to the full game already, mentioned on reddit that now Hero’s with lightsaber can’t block the bullets infinitely. There’s now a cooldown for how long they can reflect the bullets and will get hit after they run out of time. Also, players are now notified over coms when a hero either arrives or gets killed on the battlefield.
The Star Wars: Battlefront is set to release on 17th November in NA, 19th November in Australia and 20th November in Europe so there’s still time to pre-order the game and get access to the Jakku DLC one week early. Click here to pre-order Star Wars Battlefront
