Generally speaking, if you want to become better at shooter games you need to practice and build really good habits. Whether you play Overwatch, CS:GO or any other FPS, becoming better at aiming is a fundamental part of the game that has to be mastered. Some will tell you that everything is about skill but in reality, many other things need to be taken into account, with the most important factors mentioned below.

You Need Good Gear

No matter what anyone tells you, if you do not have good gear, you will not be great at aiming. Similarly to when you use MJ Freeway cannabis consulting services as you need such gadgets, you want to talk to professionals and read reviews to make good choices. The two main hardware pieces required are the mouse and the mousepad.

The good news is that mouse sensor technology is nowadays highly advanced. It is really easy to find a computer mouse that is perfect for FPS games and that has the needed DPI. As a general recommendation, go for the lighter, simpler mice. Just a couple of thumb buttons are needed for your core abilities. Lighter mice are also much easier to handle.

Mouse Sensitivity

The most important of all available settings for FPS aiming is mouse sensitivity. The problem is there is no recommendation that can be made. Every individual is different so you want to find the sensitivity that is the best in your case.

Start with the DPI setting that is highly comfortable for you as you are using Windows. Then, start to play the game and make changes to see what feels completely right. With lower sensitivity you get more control but it is harder to actually control your mouse at wrist and elbow levels. Normally, it is recommended to start somewhere between 400 and 800 DPI.  But finding mice up to 16400DPI and tuning the scrolling speed can be beneficial as well.  Also look at the G-force sensitivity of the mouse as well. Sensitivity can then be adjusted to what you find comfortable.

Game Sense And Techniques

Two main aiming types exist: flick shots and tracking shots. By tracking we mean trying to keep crosshair aimed at targets all the time. This is good with some characters, like Tracer in Overwatch, and weapon types, like an automatic machine gun. The flick shot means you flick the crosshair at the target and then return to neutral positions. You use this for the single shot weapons, like a sniper rifle. No matter what aiming type is needed, always be sure the crosshair is pointed wherever you think the enemy will be encountered so reaction time is reduced.

There’s No Substitute For Practice

Professional gamers play so much more than what you expect. This is because you can only become better if you keep playing and you focus on improving. Practice truly does make perfect. Take this out of the actual game too. You can actually use some browser games to improve aim. In this case you are actually improving reflexes. Remember that aim improvement can only be done in game. There is simply no way around that, no matter what gear or settings you use.
