I have been a fan of the Mech type gaming ever since Battletech and the original Mech Warrior. The idea of humans who engineered mech’s which are like humanoid shaped tanks that are used for combat warfare was just an awesome concept and I watched many mech related Japanime back in the day from Bubblegum Crisis to the Battletech cartoons.
MechWarrior Online is going to be a Free To Play MMO game which is powered by the t CryENGINE®3 engine and set around these awesome mechs (tank like robots) and though the trailer doesn’t show gameplay, some game reviewer sites have said it will be like World of Tanks with mechs.
MechWarrior Online features four types of Mech Warfare which include:
Mech Warfare
This is your classic mech on mech combat pure and simple, head to head, teams and just mechs blasting away at each other.
Role Warfare
This is touted as a way for player’s to customize their experience to suit their own style of gameplay though is pretty vague overall what this means as far as the battles.
Community Warfare
Epic battles where factions are concerned and entire territories can be won or lost can be found in the Community Warfare gameplay. Something also mentioned is
Information Warfare
This is another concept that is interesting but vague still and is supposed to bring a new element to the battlefield that incorporates information technology to help control the fight.
Now is the time to start your registration and reserve your pilot name on Mech Warrior Online, the game isn’t released but they are looking for sign ups early.
Who wants to suit up and bring on the full metal warfare?
