A few weeks back, I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the new gaming mice from Sound Blaster. This is their new Siege MO4 gaming mouse. The Siege is an RGB mouse and Sound Blaster claims it has 16.8 million colors. This mouse is compatible with most Aurora reactive motherboards. Most of the time I’m a fan of less shiny packages. In this case, I’m glad they did not go with the plain box.

From the above photo you get your first glimpse of the Siege M04 mouse. This also gives you a look at the RGB lighting effect on the cover photo. Let me show you the specs from the Sound Blaster website.

Now that you have seen the specs and some of the system requirements let me show you a close-up of the mouse.

Ah, Yes it is very nice and clean mice. The shape is right on point and fits well in the hand. You can see the right and let mouse click buttons are very long and easy to reach. It has a nice and long braided cable. The right click and left click feel as they were made with gamers in mind.  The mouse does do not feel as it cheaply made. The best part is when you click the mouse buttons you do not get that cheap twang sound from the springs, in fact, you get a nice click and feedback. Almost like you were typing on a nice mechanical keyboard.

Watch My Unboxing Here!

From the unboxing, you can see the M04 mouse has a nice RGB effect to it. The best part of this effect is you can control it. You can download the Sound Blaster Connect software control center from their website. Sound Blaster Connect will allow you to update firmware and change the colors and DPI settings of your M04 RGB Mouse. We will get more into the colors in a few but first you can set your DPI from 100 to 12,000. This has three stages as well, you can also set acceleration and deceleration.  Let me show you a few screenshots of the software. You can get more of a run down on those on the video walk-through I did as well.

Color And Patterns!

The video shows you just how easy it is to set up colors and patterns on the M04 RGB Mouse. There are four light motion patters as well which include solo, mood, wave, and pulsate. The color patterns on these four can be set to your choosing. This Sound Blaster mouse also has 9 preset patterns with colors.  These patterns are Wave Rainbow, Solo orange, Wave Ice Blue, Pulsate Red, Wave Fire, Wave Green, Wave Blue, Mood Yellow, and personal. It also lets you set your own pattern and name it. You can also change the coloring on those as well. There are 16.8 million colors to choose from. You can slide a bar or if you happen to know the color code you can insert that also. You can also adjust the speed of the pulsating light. In the next couple pictures, you can see these settings.

The one thing you have not seen really up close is the light bar. The bar is rather thin but lets out tons of light.

On the bottom of the mouse, you get some more light showing. In the next photo, you can see the bar and how it wraps around the mouse. This photo will also give you a look at the pads that make the mouse slide across the surface with ease. I would have loved to see a little more weight added to this mouse. It’s not bad but I personally prefer a heavier mouse.

Final Thoughts!

With all the new gaming mice out, especially ones touting RGB as a main function, I’m glad to see Sound Blaster producing gaming mice. The Siege M04 gaming mouse is smooth and easy on the eyes. With the levels of adjustment you can make on colors, you can’t go wrong as far as RGB mice are concerned. The mouse feels good when gaming as well and adds a nice glow to the room in the dark, if you’re like me and like a heavier weighted mouse this one should still work for you though it isn’t as heavy as some weighted mice.

The lift off distance makes it easy when gaming to lift and reset the mouse down and get right back on the enemy target with no hassle. The 16.8 million colors allow you can set the SIEGE M04 to fit any mood. Even an angry red for those noobs that want to sit and camp in CS:GO for example. The mouse fit my hand well and seems like it belongs there unlike some others on the market that feel uncomfortable and over designed, or are simply to small for my hand.

I highly recommend this mouse and suggest you keep and eye on Sound Blaster. Knowing they put this beast on the market makes me wonder what’s coming next from them.

Disclaimer: Sound Blaster sent me their Siege M04 Gaming Mouse so I could do a showcase and share thoughts on the product. All opinions are 100% mine and mine alone. For more information visit http://bit.ly/dbdisclose
