I love learning and there is not a day that goes buy that I don’t spend some part of it learning and mostly it is by reading blogs, things I find on the web or watching video tutorials on how to do things. I also have no limit to how much I want to learn, artistic stuff, technical stuff, entertaining things I just have a craving to learn as much as possible and diversify my knowledge.
So when I was contacted and told that Levi teamed up with Skillshare and were doing the School of #MakeOrMark I was excited to be a part of it and to participate in taking a class or two from the artistic and creative catalog.
For those who don’t know about Skillshare it is a platform for learning and teaching where instructors create video content to engage and teach students in an online setting and with a digestible course like arrangement. In the School of #MakeOurMark all of the learning classes are $10 and the money goes toward charity, a quick perusal of the courses and I found one on how to make Stop Motion Videos so this is the one I chose and signed up for. I love stop motion LEGO videos and other stop motion animation and this class shows you how to use your iPhone to take Stop Motion Video.
You can see the class has 5 projects, and you actually work on your own project as part of the class, there is a student gallery and a community. You don’t actually just watch videos and walk away, there is learning, participation and engagement.
This class starts on October 7th and I can’t wait for others to join and participate, there are several other classes to choose from too like the Flash Fiction: How to Tell Short Stories which brings out the curiosity in me as well and this one starts on October 2nd.
Here is a quick video you can watch about the whole #MakeOurMark Campaign that Levi is doing with Skillshare.
So go take a look at the Skillshare classes in the School of #MakeOurMark and see which ones appeal to you, again these are all $10 classes and the money goes toward charity so you are helping a good cause while you gain some more creative knowledge. Also if you sign up for the Stop Motion Video class on October 7th, I will be in the class with you!
I will be doing a follow up post after the course completes to let everyone know what I thought of it and see if I can put the knowledge into creating a little sample Stop Motion Video that comes out successfully.
So I put a poll at the bottom right of this post and answer which type of creative courses appeal to you most!
Oh, and if you want to be a teacher they have a great program and setup where you can design courses to teach both locally and online, this is a way to make some income by teaching what you are good at and share your knowledge with others. I thought about building a course catalog at some point in the future too maybe around what I know, and see there are already some WordPress training courses on there already too.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask and I will try to find out the answers for you.
