Ear buds are not usually my favorite way to listen to music, though every so often a manufacturer comes out with some that change my opinions completely. For me, the issue is how the device feels and reacts to my ears when I wear them. Most often they irritate the ear canal so much that I can only wear them for a few minutes and only again after days or weeks of non-use. The Smartomi Ace is by far the most comfortable pair of ear buds I have ever worn, and are a pair I will be using for a long time to come.

As far as appearance goes, this is a very elegant and creative product. The case is not just a place to hold the earbuds, but also a place to charge them. With the earbuds inside the case, all you need to do is plug the case in and they charge. You can clearly tell they are charging because when plugged in, lights shine through the translucent cover.

Each ear bud has a set of connectors on them that allow the case to connect to them with ease. No need to connect each piece to a power source separately. In fact, because of the way the case is designed, you are less likely to accidentally lose one or the other ear bud. The ear buds are magnetic and snap into the case. You can even hold the case upside down and not lose them.

Pairing them with your device is fairly painless. I turned on my androids Bluetooth, then turned on the ear buds. From the powered off state, press and hold the left ear buds button for about 2 seconds to enter pairing mode. If you are wearing them at the time, they speak with a nice clear voice telling you exactly what is going on. Once paired, then it is extremely easy to reconnect them when you are ready to use them.

Once you are done, simply put them inside the case and you’re done. I personally did not turn them off. Once they are inside the case, they automatically unpair. The manual was too small for me to read even under magnification. I did note that after a while, with them in the case, the next time I went to make use of them, they were powered off. I turned on one, then the other, and I was ready to use once again.

Ok, now for the really good stuff. While I could not properly test how they perform answering phone calls, I could test how they reproduce sound. I honestly wish I could share with you how they sound through audio or video, but this is not something I know how to do. Suffice it to say, they sound like wonderful wrapped up inside of awesome dipped in amazing.

Most earbuds that I have tried so far do not produce thumping base. I mean the kind of base you can feel. And while that may be a good thing, these come very close. The base is deep, booming, and sound perfect. In addition, the high ends are very crisp and clear. Together, the sound they produce is nothing short of well, you know, Amazing.

From the design, the sound quality and the price, these ear buds are the best I have ever had the privilege of using.  As someone who does reviews, I often gift devices I review to others. I am keeping these for myself. I cannot compare how these sound compared to the new ones Apple has started selling, but for the money, and how well they perform, they are an excellent alternative.
