The Most Expensive Video Games in History

I was contacted by Graphs.net who makes Infographics for websites and businesses and they wanted to showcase one of their latest Infographics about the Most Expensive Video Games in history.  I found it interesting and wanted to share it with my readers, I knew that GTA V had a budget of over $200 million but stacked up against Hollywood films it is amazing just how much this game cost to produce and release to the market.

While the Infographic isn’t updated with GTA V and the Skylanders Franchise latest numbers it is close enough to still being accurate to being relevant and shows just how some games just amass stupendous achievements in commercial success.  I also didn’t realize that WoW had topped $10 Billion dollars, but I should have figured being that it has been around for so long.

How many of these games have you played so far over the past decade?  That is the other thing, out of all the history of video games, Gran Turismo 3 is the only game listed that is over a decade old and it is only from 2001.  No games from prior to 2001 have made the sales list, part of that is the prevalence of game consoles since 2001 and the sheer numbers of consoles and combinations of games that exist.
