I've been writing articles since 2022, and I think this is one of the most interesting ones I've put together. It's basically a phone designed for people who don't want to worry about damage from drops.
I'd describe it as a phone made for construction workers or people in similar jobs because this thing is seriously impressive. It's not just incredibly durable, but it also comes with a huge battery and extra features that you normally wouldn't find on a smartphone.
I'm talking about the 8849 Tank X, a rugged smartphone packed with features. So, let's take a look at its main highlights.
Features
One of the biggest selling points of this phone is that it's built largely with different metal alloys, giving it excellent resistance against impacts. These days, most smartphones use materials that look premium but are extremely fragile when dropped, especially on the back, where many manufacturers use glass.
On top of that, the phone comes with an IP68 waterproof rating, meaning it's resistant to both water and dust. Once again, the 8849 Tank X is genuinely tough, and I'd recommend it to anyone who needs a phone that can handle hard drops and rough working conditions.
The battery is another feature that really impressed me. It packs a massive 17,600 mAh rechargeable battery, which is honestly crazy considering that most smartphones today average around 5,000 mAh. That's more than three times the capacity. To give you an idea, under light usage, the battery can last up to 670 hours, or provide up to 98 hours of music playback, 48 hours of video playback, or 118 hours of talk time.
And yes, I mentioned this earlier, and it's true. This phone has its own built-in projector. That's hard to believe because I think most of us have seen those fake ads claiming an app can turn your phone into a projector, which obviously isn't possible. However, the 8849 Tank X includes a 220-lumen mini projector, so you can easily project movies, presentations, or other content directly from your phone.
The flashlight is another feature that really caught my attention. It comes with a powerful 1,200-lumen LED flashlight and offers five lighting modes, including high brightness, medium brightness, strobe, and SOS mode. That makes it useful in a wide range of situations.
I normally don't recommend using a smartphone as a flashlight because they're usually too weak. However, with 1,200 lumens, this one is definitely an exception.
Of course, this isn't a phone for everyone. It's designed for people who need something that's genuinely rugged and built to take a beating.
