Volutz iPhone Lightning Cable Review

As a long-time iPhone and Apple user, I’ve gone through more charging cables than I care to admit. Almost all of them, even the “fancy” ones you get from the store itself, fall apart in just a matter of time. Volutz is out to change that. After realizing that there is minimal difference between a gas station cable and a premium-priced cable, they set out to make these lightning cords even better. Rarely am I blown-away by the tech products out there, but this is one of the products that has truly stood out to me through my years of testing. Opening and using the Volutz cords

These are pretty self-explanatory as a product: you simply open them up, uncoil the cord, and plug it in to use it. Right away, I was blown away by the high-quality materials all over the cords themselves and the ends. The common problem on the iPhone cords is where it connects right into the device and having that start to fray away. Instead, these cords have solid materials all around each end to prevent this from happening. These cords are long, too, at a solid 6 ft.

Durability and charging speeds

These Volutz lightning cords have technology on them they call DualHousing™ which is the two parts inside the cords to help redirect tensions from the cable into the connector housing. I noticed that my phone charged quickly and without any delays using this cord, which is hard to find in the longer cords. Most longer cords I’ve used generally lose their charging strength when stretched over a long distance. This cord claims to be 20% faster than most Apple cords, which I would say is true after testing.

It’s a small feature, but I also love that the USB end and the lightning end both have small little rubber grips so you can pull them out of your devices safely without having to tug on the cords themselves. These cords have a 50.000+ bending tolerance, which means they can tolerate a lot of wear and tear. I rolled over them with my office chair, bent it at weird angles, etc., and no damage was shown on the cords nor did my charging slow down at all.
