By now if you are in the streaming community and especially if you were a Mixer streamer you know that Mixer is shutting down on July 22nd. While Microsoft and Facebook Gaming worked to transfer partnership into Facebook Gaming if you were a Mixer Partner, this left Mixer streamers who were not a partner with the daunting task of starting over or choosing another platform to stream on. Facebook Gaming has potential just like Mixer had potential, but honestly with the target audience of gamers and youth spending less time on Facebook I am not sure personally that Facebook Gaming is the right decision and would think that Mixer users are better trying to migrate to Twitch (or back to Twitch) or go into YouTube Gaming instead where at least each live stream becomes a permanent post video and YouTube still is a great place for passive content.
Or I would consider restreaming, but restream isn’t free to stream to Facebook fanpage, though they should make this part of the free plan since Mixer is being cut out honestly. Some steps I would do to immediately plan for this transition is make a plan, find out if you want to take your Mixer stream to Facebook Gaming and if you intend to stream as your personal Facebook profile or setup a fanpage to represent your “brand” or streaming identity. I would always recommend a page vs a personal profile, but again it is a bit more of a setup and you can’t use restream for free, but you can use Streamlabs OBS or OBS to stream to Facebook fanpages.
Inform your community on every social media you have, and setup a “launch date” on your new social channel. Set aside whatever incentive you can to help encourage the transition, if you are going to Facebook setup a Facebook event and encourage people to invite everyone they know to attend. Remember to schedule promotion for your first launch on the new social network and leverage hashtags and replies to people you network with or those who are willing to share your event. Leverage your streaming communities you are part of including Discord groups, Facebook groups and more.
Avoid becoming dependant on any single social network, grow your community on multiple social media sources including your own Discord server, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even run a blog/website devoted to your streaming brand. Even if you stream to a single network, leverage cross-sharing videos/clips and more to YouTube as well so you have content on every platform to avoid being trapped in one platform.
Good luck to everyone who has to make this transition, you have my support and if you ever need advice or a community to join and be part of, feel free to join the Dragon Blogger Discord server and share your story and journey as you make this transition, or if you never had to since you never used Mixer that’s fine too.
On to this weeks streamers, and if you want to be included in a future round up fill out a request to feature your stream.
This is the story of a girl whocriedariveranddrownedthewholeworld – not really ;). I’ve had an interest in streaming for a long time now but was hesitant to dip my foot for a few reasons; mostly because my humour and language can be a bit uh – I think the kids say edgy? And I didn’t want to come across the wrong way! I even chuckled a little at the ‘family friendly’ stream tag as it’s far from my cup of tea. Having said that, I’ve had a lot of wholesome, genuine moments with the Twitch community. It’s been amazing to see how inclusive, supportive and creative the community is!
My Twitch name ‘ChibiValkyrie’ has been my gamer tag for years now. At least, that or other versions of that. Sometimes just Chibi – or sometimes Valkyrie. I thought about how I’d love to represent my brand, but sometimes, the simplest and most obvious answer is the right one. I’ve been ChibiValkyrie all along!
Having grown up with three older brothers, gaming has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Even before we had our Mac (dw, fam, I’ve since moved on from Apple) or our first PS1 – my brothers and I would play outside making up imaginary games where we had magical powers and intricate back stories.
I enjoy a variety of games but story heavy RPGs will always be my bread and butter. Buuuut, there’s nothing wrong with a cheeky FPS (mindless violence in Bulletstorm is a good time), RTS (I’m going to include Frostpunk here because it’s not a chill city builder) or some chill fun with Tropico or Sims. As an Aussie, it’s been challenging for me to try to align with other time zones. But I’m really keen to grow my community and get to know all of you! Please come say hi :). Or yo. Or hai. Or howdy. :)
Hi all I am Helldweller and I am a married 33 year old guy with a daughter. I stream on Twitch, I got into streaming through watching some of my favourite streamers like Hybrid Panda and true talent so I gave it a go and I’ve loved it ever since also it’s a big help for my confidence because before I started. I used to suffer bad with mental health problems, I usually stream Predator Hunting Grounds but I’m planning to do some streams on the Elder Scrolls Skyrim as the Witcher, Skyrim is possibly one of my all time favourite games, I do absolutely love Predator Hunting Grounds but unfortunately due to it being extremely buggy I’ve decided to take a break but I will return once it is all sorted. I stream directly off my PS4, I love chatting with new people and hopefully giving people a laugh. I’m a kind of guy where what you see is what you get from Lancashire, UK. I usually stream from 7pm BST. Come on by and say hi, I’d love to hear from you and let’s have some fun while I stream.

My name is Evelina and I’m from Sweden and why I am streaming is because I wanted to have fun with people online. I started streaming because I was bored originally, and now I stream because it’s so much fun and I have a lot of friends who stream with me sometimes. I know a lot of people do it for becoming famous and trying to make money money but I do it for fun and because I enjoy it and just because I wanna get to know my followers and interact with them. I stream everything from Minecraft to league Overwatch and all the games I own. My English is not the best but I don’t give up. I’m always here for my friends and loved once I care so much about them and I will do anything for anyone who needs my help :3, and just to share I’m really shy in the real world and I keep to myself but I’m trying to break that bubble.

Hello, My Name is Ruben Aka LanternPose. I am 24 and I have been working at a server factory for 4 years now. What I do is test and repair hardware components. I am huge nerd when it come to Anime, Comics, Card Games, Airsoft, and most of all Gaming. When growing up as kid, my grandpa will show me all his collection of old comics and action figures from the late 90’s to the early 80’s. Also I was inspired to stream because of my uncle ( He is a streamer as well lol). So as I grew up I explored a lot of different games, anime and comics. That is why I wanted to become a streamer.
I am a Twitch streamer, gaming video creator and will be soon streaming from other streaming platforms. I hit Affiliate in August of 2019. I have been a streamer for the past 11 months now on twitch. I am a variety gamer that streams games I never played before or brings classic games back to life. I’m also learning how to make an awesome community and how to improve my quality and performance on my videos and streaming. In my discord community I guild and help new streamers to the right path as I am learning how to grow myself. I love meeting new gamers and nerds and how they express their video games.
