Blogging, as you most probably know already, is of several types. A few of them are:
Personal Blogging
When you don’t really care about what others need, and publish articles, videos and pictures of what you like, feel and think just to share what’s on your mind. Personal blogging is in fact the earliest form of weblogging, which is literally maintenance of an online diary or journal as a log of your daily activities and thoughts.
Corporate Blogging
Primarily restricted to big corporate houses, this brand of blogging is meant to share the latest announcements with people who are either customers, clients or suppliers of the company. Corporate blogs are generally maintained by the PR staff who post updates regularly.
Informative/Popular Blogging
This is what we usually refer to as just Blogging. It is aimed at sharing useful information with others in the form of news, tutorials, reviews and demo videos. Technology, Entertainment and Gaming are the main areas covered by Dragonblogger.com, just like Problogger and DailyBlogTips are about blogging. The most popular technology blogs around, TechCrunch, Engadget and Wired are used to launch new gadgets, software and other technological innovations with millions of readers. Ehow, Wikihow and similar tutorial blogs are community based, and are some of the most popular destinations on the internet.
In this post, we shall discuss a few ways to write posts which will become popular based on certain factors like trouble-shooting needs, fan following and future demand.
1. Current Demand for Information
What are the topics about which people are looking for information currently? Computer maintenance, internet usage tips, online money transfer, making money online, gardening in winter in Arizona, rainwater harvesting, successful blogging tips, cooking sushi at home, teaching your kids elementary Physics or Math, dealing with recession in the US economy are some common topics. Each person has a hundred problems in his or her life, and no problem is unique to a person. So, you can choose any topic which you know about and start blogging about it. When people discover and subscribe to your blog, you can start making the big dollars too!
2. Future Demand for Information
Do you know of any problems which are currently affecting only a small population but are expected to affect a much larger population in the future? Can you advise people about dealing with one or more of those problems? If yes, you’ve found a topic to start blogging about! When the problem spreads to other regions, the people there will start searching for information about it and will land on your blog. Then the cash will follow automatically!
3. Fan following
There are thousands of websites and blogs about sports teams and personalities, movie and television stars, politicians and other celebrities. Book series like Harry Potter by J K Rowling and comic series like Spiderman, Archies or Batman have millions of fans worldwide, who will be eager to read whatever new things you have to say about them! If you can spin your own tales or reveal new insights about such stuff with a huge fan following, your blog will in no time cross all sorts of visitor traffic records and income records!
While these 3 ways to create highly popular blogs and blog posts are fairly well known, there are several other methods like choosing trending topics which are on the verge of breakout but not many sites and blogs have written about them. You can use Google Trends and Google Insights for digging up such topics. Another method is to use and review the latest gadgets and software products by popular companies before they have been released in the market, though it might require some connections with the companies.
So how do you propose to double, triple or quadruple your blog traffic this month?
