5 Gaming Earbuds for When You Don’t Want to Wear Full Headphones

Most people are used to using a gaming headset when they are playing on the PC or console, but sometimes you don’t want your whole ear covered and you still want to be able to hear what is going on around you.  Gaming earbuds can offer surprisingly good quality for the price without the bulkiness and often have a much lower price tag.  Some even offer 3D Surround Sound taking advantage of digital surround methods so that you can hear sounds from all directions not just left and right channels, but the type of system and game must be able to support 3D virtual surround over 3.5mm audio output in order to take advantage of it.   The PlayStation 4 is one system that can output 3D surround in games, especially in PS4 VR games where the 3D earbuds can receive the signals and truly immerse yourself in the environment.

Here are 5 pairs of gaming earbuds which work well if you are on a console or a PC, though I find that gaming earbuds are more ideal for console gaming since you often co-op with people in the room and may not want to have your ears completely covered with a headset while you are gaming.
