Travelling is a fun activity; especially if it is by an airplane. There is so much that you can do on a flight. Looking out your window, listening to music, watching an in-flight movie, and a lot more. Nevertheless, flights can sometimes get too long; there comes a point in every flight when we realize how uncomfortable the seats are. It is a point when we decide that we’ve had enough.
Thankfully, there are a lot of gadgets that can help out in making flights much more comfortable. The following are only three of a wide array of gadgets.
Sound-insulating Earphones
One of the major things that you must take with you on an airplane is a set of earphones. While airlines offer a complementary pair, they’re not always guaranteed to be of a good quality. Not to mention, they are most likely to heavily leak sound. So, unless you want to be that annoying passenger who forces everyone to listen to the same thing they’re listening to, it is better to invest in a pair of sound-insulating earphones. Make sure you get earphones like the Shure SE535 which have a sound isolating design that blocks up to 37 dB of outside noise for immersive listening no matter where you are or how much noise there is on the plane even if you sit near the engine.
Micro Charger
If you are one of those people who save a lot of articles offline for later; maybe for keeping up with your favorite celebrities which you can actually read here, it is recommended that you get a portable charger. Of course, the smaller the charger is, the better. No one wants to walk around with a bulky backpack just because they have a huge power bank, or something. Instead, you could carry a gadget that’s no larger than 2 inches in length. The only drawback is that you won’t really be at liberty to keep your phone charged forever. However, the device can save your life if you need enough battery power to get you home from the airport. The Jackery is one example and is about the size of a lipstick and holds 3350mAh about enough power to charge your phone one complete time or give you 100% additional battery life!
A Window Shelf
You may be surprised with this one since, the gadget isn’t really what you would call, “world famous”. A major struggle that most plane passengers face is that they usually can’t find a place to put their phones, or glasses, or tablets. Especially during meal times when the tray is occupied. In fact, even when it’s not occupied, the tray itself takes too much space. This is why you could simply use window shelves. These are foldable pieces that can easily be packed inside your handbag; they are specifically designed to fit within the frame of your airplane window. Using them can easily allow you to put all of your personal belongings without having to sacrifice any of your precious seat space.
Portable Device Stand
Do you ever get sick of propping up your phone, or your tablet, while watching a video or two? Well, imagine doing that through an entire movie. It’s going to get a bit difficult. This is why, if you’re planning on watching movies, it is recommended that you get one of these stands or holders. They simply help you keep your device up. From experience you are going to want one that doesn’t just hold your tablet or phone up and you still have to bend your neck down to look at the screen, but one that can raise and hold your tablet at near eye level so you don’t have to strain your neck if you plan on watching content for a long flight.
Hanging Flight Bag
If you are planning to get some work done during your flight, there is nothing better for you than having this specialized bag. It is designed to strap onto the pull out tray; it is supposed to allow you easy access to everything you need. You won’t have to go through the trouble of reaching under your seat, or getting to the overhead compartments. The bag usually has pockets for pens, earphones, devices, and documents. It is a businessman’s travel buddy.
Gadgets are designed to make our trips easier; especially the long ones. However, before you start packing every gadget you have, remember that you need to pack light. The gadgets may make your flight easier; but, light-packing will make your trip easier. Moreover, you won’t have to constantly worry about losing your precious devices, or about them getting stolen. Finally, it is worth mentioning that you should ask your airline about the amenities they provide; some airlines actually provide extremely comfortable flights.
