So I needed a good and high quality single ear headset that I could wear while on conference calls and away from my home MagicJack, I have tried so many single ear headsets before from so many brands, but I wanted one that was more like your traditional telemarketer single hear over the head headset.  Mpow sent me their professional Bluetooth headset which they sell on Amazon for just around $25 and I have to say that this product delivers as well if not better than some single ear headset solutions costing 2-3x as much in my opinion.

Here is my Unboxing Video

Now, the first thing you notice is they got you covered with some extra pieces in case the ear part wears off, the fit is comfortable and adjust to most head sizes with ease.  Most importantly the sound quality is very good and the mic quality is excellent compared to so many earbuds and headsets I have tried.  I have been on 24+ hours of conference calls with this headset and never had a single complaint over voice quality, people said they couldn’t tell this headset compared to my home one connected to the MagicJack.  This headset delivered much better than a very similar headset I reviewed a few weeks prior.

The Mpow professional Bluetooth Headset is not perfect however, and there are a few things it has trouble with. First and foremost is the frustrating mute function, too often I have to be on a conference call in a car and have to mute myself for 10-15 minutes at a time, but the mute function on the headset causes the headset to beep every few seconds reminding you that you are on mute, this would be fine except instead of just signaling you it actually cuts off your ability to hear the audio while it plays its beep.  This then causes callers to be cut off and you end up missing parts of sentences every few seconds which make it completely frustrating and useless of a mute button.  The mute on the phone is a must and you can’t use the mute function unless you really just wanted to mute to step away from the phone (to use the restroom) and didn’t intend to hear the other caller while you were on mute.

Besides the mute function this would have been a 5 star head set and this is because the microphone worked so well and the fit, comfort and sound quality of the single headset was good.  Because it is a single ear headset, it has some funny issues where music apps cannot actually transmit any sound to it, you can make calls with it, but playing music on Spotify won’t even signal to go to this headset even if you wanted to hear it with one ear.  Not a big deal, but the mute button caused me to drop it to a 4 star rating, if they improved this in a future model this could very well be a 5 star headset in the next updated model.
