The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 came with so much style and splendor, exhibiting all that we have come to expected from this highly anticipated annual event. With known manufacturers vying for stage attention with the relatively unknown, we knew we were going to get an assembling of new and highly desirable gadgets that would get us looking toward the market and yearning, in the weeks and months ahead.
Some of the outstanding products on display include car maker, Faraday’s SUV, the FF91 with Stealth Combat finish, Cloud Flight wireless gaming headphones by HyperX, hands-free autonomous carry-on suitcase by ForwardX; and then first in their individual niches: The World’s first Modular MicroLED 146-inch TV, tagged The Wall by Samsung, and then the world’s thinnest laptop, the Acer Swift 7.
For those primarily interested in technology for the kitchen, it should enthuse you to know that the Kitchen and Bath International Show (KBIS) was concurrently going on in Florida. And we would absolutely not forget the International Home & Housewares Show (IHHS), which came with its own pomp & pageantry.
These are events tagged with unveiling home and kitchen appliances for the future.
With so much tech fiesta ongoing, we look at products that have and would be revolutionizing the way we cook in the kitchen.
1. GE Profile wall oven
One of the highlights of the Kitchen and Bath International Show, Haier company, GE Appliances introduced the GE Profile wall oven. With a 7-inch LCD display with features like , Marketing director, GE Appliances, Brian McWaters states that the GE Profile wall oven could be the difference between a feature phone and a smartphone.
With distinct features like the Oven, Microwave, Gourmet, Frozen etc. and a platform for recipes, the Profile wall oven could be fueling the way in which our meals turn out in the kitchen.
2. The Instant Pot Max
Gaining an entry into the International Home & Housewares Show this year, electric pressure cooker, the Instant Pot Max has undergone an evolution that’s gradually making the device a kitchen favorite. An upgrade from the older version, the Instant Pot, the Instant Pot Max has features like the canning, automatic stirring, pressure-venting, all resting on a glossy and polished easy-to-understand touch screen. With the pressure increased from the original 12psi to 15psi, the Max is expected to cook meals faster. Timeline to its availability in the market would be around May – June of the year.
3. The LG Instaview Door-to-Door refrigerator
Electronics maker, LG graced the KBIS with the LG Instaview door-to-door refrigerator. Sampling different models like the Side-by-Side, French 3-Door, and 4-Door models, the Instaview door-to-door has features like tinted glass panel, a double knock to light up the fridge, Smart Cooling Plus technology, Slim SpacePlus ice system, and additional space for more items.
4. Air Fryers
Though, not a new product, but definitely worth a mention, the Air fryers has been playing a subtle role in the kitchen since 2010. If you had not heard about the air fryer before this post, then this is an appliance you would want to know about. The air fryer was invented to reduce the amount of cooking oil that is required to prepare a meal. This, the appliance does, by preparing the meal in a vacuum of hot oil.
The efficacy of the air fryer triggered celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay to remark: Air is the new oil. With the air fryer, you can fry, roast, grill or bake your meal – with little or no oil. 5. KitchenAid Stand mixer
Reminding us why their stand mixer is so good, KitchenAid introduces the stand mixer at the IHHS, with different colors. If you are acquainted with the stand mixer, you would know that you can mix bread dough, cake batter, start your cookie preparation, or carry out your frosting, with the stand mixer.
With the introduction of new colors, you can enhance the appearance of your kitchen by giving kitchen appliances matching colors. Choose colors like ‘Color of the Year’ – Birds of Paradise, Dried Rose, Blue Velvet, and Shaded Palm.
6. Gourmia 11-in-1 Cool Cooker
Appliance maker, Gourmia would not be left behind. During the IHHS, the company introduced the Gourmia 11-in-1 Cool Cooker. The 11-in-1 Cool Cooker would enable you choose 11 different cooking functions that would turn out with food so delicious. Choose from functions like rice maker, saute, roast, bake, yoghurt, slow cooker etc., with the ability to customize your settings to fit each cooking. The new Gourmet Cool Cooker also features the ability to keep your meals at ‘food-safe’ temperature, and enable you to revert to ‘cook mode’ remotely.
7. Oxo 8 Cup Coffee Maker
Kitchen utensils maker, Oxo, also arrived at the IHHS with Oxo 8 Cup Coffee Maker. Beautifully designed, with a compact look, the 8 Cup Coffee Maker gives you a range of selection in cups with which you can brew your coffee. With the 8 Cup Coffee Maker, you can either select single cups, larger cups, and even mugs.
8. The LG Signature SteamClean Dishwasher
Welcome to our final, but not the least tech device in this article. Also introduced during the CES 2018, the LG Signature SteamClean dishwasher is a truly cutting-edge device. Featuring four Multi-Motion spraying arms, the SteamClean dishwasher works toward speedily improving your washing objectives, reducing the time you spend in the kitchen, cleaning up. Additional features you can ignore include TrueSteam, to wash away strongly soiled plates, as well as LG including the remote sensor, so you can remotely control the dishwasher.
