Notable Black Friday Deals on Digital Storage

So I scoured a few of the various Black Friday deals online to curate some of the ones I thought were good deals and more importantly were products that I recommend and think they are worth considering this holiday season. These range from the useful to the fun and exciting and feel free to peruse and see if anything tickles your fancy.

First up lets look at storage related media, there is no shortage of a need for having digital storage. Everything from USB Flash Drives, more SSD storage to external drives to make sure you can keep up with the increasing file sizes of games, applications as well as backup and store all your personal photo’s and video media. So here are some items that I found.

WD_Black P10 Game Drive 5 TB

Honestly for just under $100 on Amazon you get very decent 5 TB of external storage that can be used to backup everything and it even functions well enough to be an external drive for PlayStation 4 (not PS5). This 5TB HDD can hold up to 125 games based on a 36GB average per game. Personally though I would use something like this as a pure backup drive for storing and archiving everything, I would rely on an SSD for application/game installs.

Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 

So the Samsung EVO 860 SSD is 8offers optimized performance for everyday computing as well as rendering large-sized 4K videos and 3D data used by the latest applications. It has a 5 year warranty and has broad support for virtually any computer and laptop that takes 2.5″ drives. It is also $99 on sale right now, though you can get he 2TB version for $199 which is also a fantastic deal. While not as fast as the M.2 PCIe SSD’s, it is still the most common and a great upgrade if you don’t have an M.2 slot or just want something in between.

Western Digital 1TB WD Blue SN550 NVMe Internal SSD

For less than $100 you can pick up the WD Blue SN550 which has up to 2400 sequential read speeds and is a great value. That being said for around $15 more you can get the WD_Black SN750 which is 3500 sequential read speeds and is an even better deal and more recommended unless the $15 difference matters enough.

SanDisk 512GB Ultra microSDXC UHS-I

Honestly an excellent deal at under $70 this Class 10 Micro SD card will boost your storage for your Android phone, tablet or even the Nintendo Switch to allow you to store more media. Highly recommended you get 512GB and they have 1TB size options now. Many camera’s also use MicroSD Cards too, so this is probably one of the most versatile storage cards you can have around the house.

Kingston 256GB 100 G3 USB 3.0 Data Traveler

For $46.99 on Black Friday deals you can get a 256GB Thumb Stick storage supporting USB 2 and USB 3 speeds that allows you to transfer and move media or simply just keep another backup option that requires lower capacity. I myself use USB sticks to move media throughout various devices in the house as it is a very fast and convenient way to transfer media files without setting up shared folders.
