Summer is here and since we can’t really be playing sports outside right now with the pandemic still roaming around, how about we stay home and watch football matches or play games instead?
With that said, make sure to get some beIN Connect Cards to pay for your subscriptions if you’re thinking of watching the Euro 2020 and COPA America 2021. Now, to get you into the football spirit, here are some sports games that can be found on the PlayStation store for your PS4.
FIFA 21
A typical football simulation that everyone knows and loves, FIFA 21 lets you experience being football players of your favorite team during the FIFA World Cup. There are three modes for you to choose from so you won’t really get tired of the game. Plus, you can play with your friends for a rowdy good time.
The three modes are Ultimate Team, Career Mode, and VOLTA Football 21. Ultimate Team mode allows for co-op gameplay with several more modes: Division Rivals, Squad Battles, and Friendlies for online matches.
MLB The Show 21
Here’s a baseball simulation for you, the franchise is one of the first to start with baseball simulations and is going strong with this sixteenth entry. Basically, you play baseball. Go get a home run. Sounds simple, but it’s harder than it looks.
The latest addition adds a ballpark creator feature where players can create their own ballparks as well as share and download ballparks made by other players. The game includes cross-platform compatibility so you can pick it up and play with other people on the PS5 and Xbox consoles as well.
Rocket League
Let’s spice it up a little with a football game but with cars. Even if this game was released way back in 2015, people still flock to it as though it was released yesterday. For good reason too! Rocket League is hectic fun and chaotic with eight players on a team, fighting to score a goal with their rocket-powered vehicles.
There are single and multiplayer modes both offline and online with cross-play so this game can pretty much be played anywhere, anytime with a console. Matches last for five minutes with a sudden death round if teams are tied. There are different modes and downloadable content for you to enjoy if you’re tired of the usual gameplay.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2
Last year saw the remastered version of the skateboarding game Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, which grew to be a hit of nostalgia amongst gamers everywhere. With revamped graphics and visuals as well as new pro skaters and new music. There are secret characters for you to unlock and play so that’s a fun little treat.
As a skateboarding game, you can attempt insane tricks and combos and even create your own skate park. There’s a local two-player mode and online mode to play with randoms around the world aside from its original game modes.
Gran Turismo Sport
Ever just want to drive a really fast car with no consequences or fear for your life? Well, Gran Turismo Sport is here for you to do just that. Gran Turismo started out as a realistic driving simulator but has now evolved into a straight-up racing video game. There is also a VR option available if you would like to fully immerse yourself in the game.
There are two modes for you to experience: Sport Mode and Arcade Mode. Aside from that, a championship is held twice a year known as the Nations Cup and the Manufacturers Cup. These championships are usually live-streamed for viewers around the world to see and support their favorite teams.
Everybody’s Golf
Care for another round of golf anyone? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Everybody’s Golf takes a fun spin on the golf genre whilst maintaining rather accurate ball physics. Plus, Everybody’s Golf has been around for quite a while and continues to expand on their franchise with better mechanics and visuals each release.
The latest release of Everybody’s Golf added in more customization options and open-world courses for players to explore for themselves. The gameplay is simple but remains challenging to master still.
Madden NFL 21
We’ve talked about football, but we haven’t talked about American football so here it is. Madden NFL 21 is a realistic American football simulator for die-hard fans. Of course, these sorts of games get repetitive because honestly, it’s football, there’s no other new mechanic to add to it. But it’s all in great fun.
Madden NFL 21 follows the actual rules of the NFL with real players. Playing as the current year’s teams really ties in the realistic feeling of being there and being able to experience the things they’re going through. Naturally, we all want our favorite teams to win as well. The controls and graphics are rather improved from previous releases, so you could get a rather realistic experience as well.
Knockout City
An action dodgeball game that’s more fictionalized than realistic, but still loads of fun compared to the real thing. Knockout City is a team-based competitive multiplayer game with the rules of dodgeball. Players are basically on a mission to knock out the opposite team players with a ball.
There are a variety of balls to choose from which give different effects and abilities such as the Moon Ball which allows players to jump higher and the Bomb Ball which is a time bomb that explodes upon impact. With the availability of five maps and six different modes for you to try out, the game is reckless fun, and no one gets hurt unless you count pride.
