Rip DVDs to Watch on Roku iPad and More

Now I used the software extensively and was able to rip several of my DVD’s including episodes of The Simpsons, Avatar and more and put them on the Kindle Fire, iPad and iPhone but for some reason no setting I tested with .mp4 or .mkv worked with my Roku 2 XDS when trying to play the movie from a USB stick.

So the only device I owned that I couldn’t get a media file playing was on the Roku 2 XDS, but not very many people would convert their DVD’s to movies to play on Roku, most would probably just use Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon Video on Demand anyway right?
