Portable speakers are a great option for anyone who likes music, but the Zenbre speakers are a great option for not only good sound but also surround sound. One of the best features of the Zenbre Z4 speakers is the ability to pair two to a device at the same time. This gives you the ability to hear music or your TV in surround sound. Here’s everything you need to know about this speaker:
Sound and Microphone
Overall, the sound on the Zenbre Z4 speaker is pretty good. At really loud sounds it doesn’t sound as good as some more expensive speakers, but you probably won’t have it that loud too often. The microphone worked great so if you need to use it for calls. The bass is pretty good, considering how small this speaker is. Rock music sounded slightly grainy, but not enough to where I’d say it’s a huge problem. For a speaker under $40, it has a pretty solid sound. Voice sounds good too, so if you’re a big fan of things like audiobooks, this one works great.
The speaker has an integrated 2x5W combined 2×2″low-frequency radiators and a subwoofer in each cylinder, making it a great upgrade compared to most cheap speakers on the market. It sounds the best when it’s faced directly at you, but you can still hear it from any direction.
Battery and Bluetooth
The 1800mAh Li rechargeable battery gives up to 18 hours of playtime (24 hours with moderate volume). You can only connect two speakers at once, but it gives the ability to give a 360-degree surround sound. It doesn’t have a left and right output, but they stay synched perfectly so there’s no delay when you’re listening to something. The Zenbre Z4 speaker connects through Bluetooth 4.1 or through the 3.5mm cord.
For Bluetooth, every time I turned it on I had to connect it to the device. It didn’t automatically pair every time it went on. Once it was connected, however, it did stay connected the whole time. The battery charges through a USB cable, which comes in the box.
Other Features
The Zenbre Z4 speaker is IPX4 waterproof, meaning it can take slight splashes of water and not get hurt. There’s some conflicting information about this speaker if they’re IPX6 (waterproof) or not. Some tests on the internet show it being completely submerged and still fine. These speakers are light, so they’re easy to transport around.
There’s also a space at the top where you could put in rope or something else to hang it. It comes with a little rope you could use, but I’d recommend something a little stronger if you have it. That gives you more options for putting it around your space.
The volume up and down options didn’t work when it was connected through Bluetooth or the 3.5mm aux cord. I had to change the sound on the device it was connected to.
